Questions worth
working on.

A developing collection of personal projects, with a focus on everyday economics, language and data.

ECONOMICS / INTERACTIVE TOOLS

What does car ownership really cost?

Malaysia & U.S. vehicle affordability

A proposed comparison of vehicle prices and ownership costs relative to income, designed around an interactive affordability calculator.

Concept & scope

Project direction

Compare purchase price, financing, fuel, insurance and other ownership costs using explicit assumptions and comparable income measures. This is a planned comparison, not a published set of findings.

LANGUAGE / AI EVALUATION

How well do captions capture Malay?

Malay transcription evaluation

An exploration of automatic captions using a manually corrected Malay transcript as a reference for a future error analysis.

Reference preparation · Evaluation planned

Project direction

The next step is to align the reference transcript with automatic captions and categorize omissions, substitutions and spelling differences. No benchmark score or final evaluation is claimed here.

02 / SELECTED ACADEMIC WORK

Putting analysis
into practice.

Course projects connecting real estate, statistical reasoning and critical digital literacy.

Completed academic analysis

Methods & findings

The presentation uses Excel rankings and an average composite score to compare markets. Raleigh-Cary ranked first and Seattle ranked 39th under that project’s methodology. A separate regression analysis used 4,237 Seattle-area multifamily properties. These are historical coursework results, not current investment recommendations.

CRITICAL DIGITAL LITERACY / EDUC 375

03 / ABOUT ME

A wider lens.
A practical mindset.

I grew up in Kuala Lumpur and completed two degrees at the University of Washington: a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and a Bachelor of Arts with dual concentrations in Medical Anthropology & Global Health and Human Evolutionary Biology.

My interests sit where people, places and evidence meet. I enjoy looking at familiar questions from more than one angle, whether that means comparing housing markets, working with data or examining how technology shapes everyday life.

Alongside my studies, I worked in event operations and led the Malaysian Student Association at UW. Those experiences gave me practice coordinating people, communicating across backgrounds and following through on the details.
